Master Tran's Weekly Message: "Personal Inventory!"
-
Just finished leading my monthly Instructor Leadership Meeting with our team. I walked away from the meeting feeling grateful that they gave me their time and I get to be surrounded by people I truly love. How lucky am I.
-
At our leadership meeting I was telling our team about taking a "personal inventory" of your life. Have you ever heard that? Well, you can start with something simple, like your closest, basement, office, etc...
-
You just begin to pick up each item and say, 'Does this thing bring me joy? Does it still serve me today? Or do I make an excuses for it based on history or hope?'
-
When you begin to do that, you begin to let go of the things that are holding you, you feel less stress, more free and lighter.
-
I started taking a personal inventory on my life 5 years ago when I was going through a dark season. Every time I moved, I would take a personal inventory and declutter my life. And I have moved a lot. 4 out of the 5 years I have been moving.
-
This past month I have been taking a personal inventory because I am moving again. I bought a new home last year and it will be finished next week. You don't have to wait to move to take action today.
-
This concept can be expanded to Jobs, friendships, and relationships. Do they bring you joy? Do they make you better? I'm not asking you to become a minimalist. No, I am just saying do a personal inventory and see how less is really more.
-
Be strong enough to let go and patient enough to wait for what you deserve. When you let go you create space for something new and better. Sometimes letting go can be painful and not easy, but if you feel that it is time then you have to listen to your gut feeling. Don't just exist, thrive and love life.
-
The thing is, so many of us are so focused on upgrading our lifestyle thinking that it will bring us happiness and we forget about upgrading our life. There is nothing wrong with having nice things but just make sure you are improving YOU.
